ABOUT US

The most important goal of the City Clerk's office is to conduct City Elections in accordance with state law; and of equal importance, to deliver prompt and correct records and information to the customer, whether citizen, employee, legislator, or administrator.

FUNCTIONS

Some Functions of the City Clerk are as follows:

  • Issue various permits and registrations adopted and approved by the City Council.
  • Business Registrations are required by the City of Portales and are the responsibility of the City Clerk's Office.
  • Maintain files for Bid and RFP documents.
  • Filing of Liens for City business (Code Enforcement cases).
